**The Diploma of Hospitality can be attained as a single qualification (78 weeks); as a single qualification the Diploma of Hospitality comprises a total of 28 units. Hospitality and commercial Cookery students wanting to also complete their respective Certificate III and/or Certificate IV within a Diploma of Hospitality will need to complete additional units based on the packaging rules for the qualification. The completion of these additional units will necessitate additional tuition fees being charged and will add to the duration of their studies.

International students are expected to arrive in Melbourne one week
prior to enrolment.
Tuition Fees
Students are encouraged to pay EACH STUDY PERIOD’S
FEES IN FULL, that is, before the commencement of
each study period in January and June of each year.
A study period is defined as two full terms of study or 22 weeks
of study. Enrolment Application fees are non-refundable. Tuition
fees will not be transferred to another educational institution.
Late payment of fees will incur a 5% penalty. ACOT accepts Visa
and MasterCard. Any payments made by these credit cards will incur
a 1% charge. There is no reduction in fees for RPL/CT students.
Additional costs will be incurred if students request additional
copies of documents. The College may restrict or withhold services
or materials including academic results from a student in relation
to courses or parts of courses which the student has participated
in or completed until those fees have been paid in full. The college
will not withhold any results for courses or parts of courses for
which the student has paid the college in full.
Payments
Payments can be made by cash, cheque, bank cheque, draft, Visa
card, Mastercard, or telegraphic transfer. Cheques and drafts should
be in favour of Australian College of Trade. Please forward your

Students may be eligible to pay by instalments from the second
study period provided they abide by the conditions set out below:
Payment of tuition fees by instalment
1. This option does not apply where a sponsor, employer, or any
other person, or organization, pays a student’s fees and charges.
2. The option applies only to the course tuition fees. All other
fees and charges, for which the student is liable to pay, as a condition
of enrolment, must be paid in full by the due date specified in
the letter of offer.
3. At least thirty percent (30%) of the annual course tuition fees
must be paid by the due dates specified on the Statement of Account
(that is, January and June of each year).
4. The balance of the course tuition fees may be paid progressively
in any amounts, and at times which suit each student, provided that
the total amount is paid by no later than April, for study period
1, and September, for study period 2 course tuition fees.
5. Extensions of time will not be granted for either the initial
payment, or the final payment. A late fee penalty of $50 per week
(or part thereof) is payable on all unpaid amounts.
6. If a variation to an enrolment results in an increase in the
amount of course tuition fees, no extensions of time will be granted
for payment of the additional fees.
7. If a student fails to make the required payments, or has not
contacted the College by the applicable due date(s) for payment,
the student’s enrolment may be suspended within 14 days of
the due date Top
Fee Protection
For tuition protection ACOT assures the security of student fees
through its compliance with the requirements of the Education Services
for Overseas Students Act (ESOS) and the Tuition Protection Service (TPS).
Refund of tuition fees
Refund Policy
Australian College of Trade (ACOT) reserves the right to cancel or postpone any courses prior to their scheduled commencement dates, should it be necessary. In such circumstances, if the course is postponed by more than four weeks and if a student is unable to enrol in a similar course at ACOT all fees will be refunded. Refund of the fees will only be granted in accordance with the refund policy set out below:
Full refund
• The Australian College of Trade Pty Ltd will make a full
refund of course fees paid in the following circumstances: Application
for a student visa is unsuccessful. In this case the Australian
College of Trade Pty Ltd, reserves the right to retain application
fee of A$250. A request for refund in writing and proof of visa
refusal from the Australian Government must be sent to the Australian
College of Trade Pty Ltd upon visa refusal. In this case full refund
of course tuition fees will be made within 28 days.
• If for any reason the Australian College of Trade Pty Ltd
is unable to start delivery of the course on the agreed starting
date or ceases to deliver the course before it is completed. In
this case a full refund of course tuition fees paid will be made
within 14 days of the specified starting date or from the time the
course ceases to be delivered in accordance with the refund requirements
of the ESOS Act 2000.
Partial refund
• The Australian College of Trade Pty Ltd will make a partial
refund of tuition fees in the following circumstances: If written
notice of withdrawal is received from a candidate at least 28 days
prior to the initial course commencement, 50% of the tuition fees
are refundable, less application fee of A$250.
No Fee refund
• If written notice of withdrawal is received from a candidate
less than 28 days prior to the initial course commencement or at
any time after course commencement, no refund will be applicable.
Refunds for any monies received by the Australian College of Trade
Pty Ltd on behalf of the student for services other than tuition
fees must be requested from the company delivering the service and
will be subject to the respective companies refund policies.
In the event that an extension to the student's visa is not granted
and the course has commenced a refund will not be issued. Students
are advised not to enrol if they believe their visa will not be
extended.
In the event that the student seeks and is granted approval by
the Australian College of Trade Pty Ltd to transfer to another provider
prior to completion of six months study of the principal course,
no refund of any course money paid in advance will be granted. In
the event that a student's enrolment is cancelled because of infringement
with the Australian College of Trade Pty Ltd’s disciplinary
Policy or breach of student visa conditions, no refund of any course
money paid in advance will be granted

Requests
for Refund of Tuition Fees
A student who wishes to apply for a Refund of tuition fees in accordance
with this Refund Policy should do so in writing and stating reasons
and relevant details by submitting it to the Administration and
Finance Manager, Australian College of Trade Pty Ltd, 589 High Street
Thornbury, VIC 3071 Australia.
Payment of Refund
All refunds for which a student is eligible will be forwarded,
within 28 days to the person who paid the fees in his or her home
country, unless the student is transferring to another institution
in Australia (subject to Visa conditions), in which case any refund
may be remitted to that institution. ACOT will provide the student
with a statement detailing the calculation of the refund.
Approvals
All refunds must be approved by the Chief Operating
Officer. Exemptions to any of the above mentioned cases may only
occur where the student has extenuating or compassionate grounds
as determined by the CEO.
This procedure, and the availability of complaints
and appeals process, does not remove the right of the students to
take action under Australia’s consumer protection laws.
